Housing Age in the City of Tucson and Pima County

The age of the City of Tucson and Pima County housing inventory varies widely. According to data from the 2018 5-year ACS, the largest proportion of homes were built between 1970 and 1979. However, the following decades had similar levels of housing development, with 74% of all homes in the Tucson area built between 1970 and 2009. Almost 19% were built in the decade before the Great Recession (2000-2009). Fewer than 4% of homes were built since the Great Recession (after 2009).
