The Making Action Possible (MAP) Dashboard has done it again!

The Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER) selected the MAP Dashboard for the 2021 Research Award for Data Collection, Dissemination, and Visualization. The C2ER program recognizes the contribution of research activities to the success of local, regional, or state community, economic, and workforce development initiatives. The MAP Dashboard is honored to be recognized by its peers for the work it does in the Southern Arizona region.

The Council for Community and Economic Research was founded in 1961 and is a member organization that promotes excellence in community and economic research by providing:

  • a robust network of industry professionals
  • training and insights provided by top industry experts
  • advocacy at the state and federal level along with the high-quality data needed to support robust advocacy initiatives

Previously the MAP Dashboard was selected by The Community Indicators Consortium (CIC) for the 2018 Impact Award. CIC is a worldwide organization that advances and supports the development, availability, and effective use of community indicators for making measurable and sustainable improvements in the quality of local communities. This international recognition goes to the MAP Dashboard for its demonstrated ability to drive positive community change in Southern Arizona. It reflects the extensive use of the Dashboard by community members, including the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, Pima Association of Governments, the Southern Arizona Leadership Council, Sun Corridor Inc., the University of Arizona, Tucson Electric Power, the Thomas R. Brown Foundation, the Freeport-McMoRan Foundation, Tucson International Airport, Cox Communications, Strongpoint Marketing, the Arizona Daily Star, and many others.

The MAP Dashboard has also previously been recognized twice nationally. In 2016, the Dashboard received the DataVIZ award from the Association for Public Data Users for the quality and impact of our visualizations. Also, in 2016 the Dashboard won the Award for Website Excellence from the Association for University Business and Economic Research.

The Dashboard has also been recognized locally with the Common Ground award from the Metropolitan Pima Alliance. Further, the Economic and Business Research Center was selected as one of three finalists for the Arizona Governor’s Celebration of Innovation in Academia for the quality of its digital resources.

The MAP Dashboard would like to thank the southern Arizona community and our sponsors for their support. The continued success of this project would not be possible without you. Thank you for being a part of the “Award Winning” MAP Dashboard.
