UA's MAP Dashboard wins national award

The MAP Dashboard, an economic data project of the University of Arizona Eller College of Management, won a national award for its use of compelling graphic design to demonstrate teacher wage disparities across 12 metropolitan areas in the western United States.

The Association of Public Data Users selected the MAP’s “fuel gauge” graphic on teacher wages for its annual Data Viz Awards.

The visualization used a stylized fuel gauge to compare the median wages of Tucson’s secondary school teachers ($37,690) to those of 11 peer metropolitan areas and the U.S., all of them higher than Tucson’s.
